UCI CYCLING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS HOST BROADCAST

HEAD OF PRODUCTION – FOR EUROVISION SPORT HOST BROADCAST

 

 

For the first time ever, the inaugural UCI Cycling World Championships combined 13 UCI World Championships in one event taking place in Glasgow and across Scotland from 3 to 13 August 2023.

 

Eurovision Sport, as the appointed Host Broadcaster, produced record television coverage:
an estimated 300 hours of live and 50 hours news and highlights.

 

Eurovision Sport has appointed Stefano Bernabino / Sport Seeds as Head of Production of Host Broadcasting of the overall event.

 

 

 

 

UCI Cycling World Championships is a world first multiple event with 13 cycling disciplines, all of them with both men and women competitions, over 8000 athletes and over 200 world championships titles awarded.

 

This biggest cycling event ever benefit from an unprecedented level of television production and distribution with 40+ broadcasters worldwide.

 

The overall Host Broadcasting Team counted up to 350 staff members.

 

Among the sports and disciplines, there were the Cycling Olympic disciplines :

    • Road Race, Track, Mountain Bike DH & XC, BMX Racing and BMX Park

 

    • and Paralympic sports with integration of Para Road Cycling and Para Track,

 

  •  the wider cycling sports family, from Trial to BMX Flatland, from MTB Marathon to E-MTB Bike  the mass events, Gran Fondo and less known discipline, Indoor

 

 

 

 

Because of the big variety of sports, as Host Broadcasters we have conceived a 3-level Production Philosphy, matching broadcasters and stakeholders expectations :

      •   Innovative Digital Production Solution for Tier 2 events working with local production partners, to enhance legacy with Scotland and with new talents directors, with gender balance with the use of 4G, Drone, with new sport world first ever drone Live Production in BMX Racing, among others  and remote production

     

 

  • Live Digital, Highlights and News coverage for Tier 3 and mass events

 

From the technology perspective, the unique setup with resilient broadcast contribution / distribution network from Glasgow based Broadcasting Operating Center (BOC) at BBC Scotland in Glasgow together with innovative cloud-based solution offered unique “remote production” possibilities for live and post-production.

At the same, to fulfill a holistic approach and identity, we have developed a consistent and extensive on air look & feel with graphics line, broadacst design kit, soundrack signature has been developed and implemented across all productions, both in broadcast and digital.

 

In addition, a shared cloud Media Server for real time content sharing and contribution has been implemented to serve broadacsters, HB production team, media, sponsors and the widers family of stakeholders.
